6 Ways to Protect Your Horse Property

Owning property can leave you vulnerable to intruders. I'm not going to go on a scare mongering rant, but anyone that owns property knows that's a possibility.

The good news is, I've compiled a few products that can help you to take steps to prevent theft and vandalism at your beloved property.

1. Use a Ring doorbell or security camera to notify you of activity and to see what's going on around your property or near your horses. Especially useful to focus on things you might have around the barn, like stored hay, shavings, tractors, implements and other equipment.

2. Use a Ring alarm system on your house to detect intruders

3. Use solar motion sensor lighting to detect movement around your buildings

4. Use locks on gates as a deterrent

5. Install fencing along road ways and and put up gates on driveways

6. Keep valuable items out of sight, if possible

Of course, nothing will prevent the most determined of thieves, but the majority of break-ins and thefts are opportunistic. Making it difficult or inconvenient will help to prevent someone from breaking in.

Adding some of these security measures can help protect you and your property. Stay safe!
